Taxicab drivers are independent contractors. The following items will be considered when evaluating a new enrollee/driver:
- The age of the driver
- U.S. driving experience
- The number of moving violations
- The number of at fault accidents
- The number of DWI convictions – any DWI convictions within 5 years will disqualify the driver absent extenuating circumstances
- Texas Driver's license with current address shown
Each independent contractor driver is responsible for obtaining a taxi driver's license from the City of Houston.
