TEXAS TAXI EXPANDS EXECUTIVE TEAM

HOUSTON (Oct. 31, 2005) — Texas Taxi, parent company of Yellow Cab Houston and Taxis Fiesta, today announced that Roman Martinez has been appointed  as Executive Vice President of Community Affairs, enhancing the transportation company’s strong executive team.

            “We are pleased to welcome Roman to his new position,” said Raymond Turner, president of Texas Taxi.  “He is a valuable strategic asset for Texas Taxi and Taxis Fiesta and will continue to help us expand and grow our outreach efforts in the communities we serve.”

            Martinez will also retain his current position as president of Taxis Fiesta, a wholly owned subsidiary of Texas Taxi, which boasts independent contractor drivers who are bilingual in English and Spanish.  Taxis Fiesta cab service is offered 24-hours a day, with a fully computerized dispatched fleet.  

In addition, Martinez will lead Yellow Cab /Taxis Fiesta Cares, a new charitable giving program that was launched in September to expand and strengthen the company’s history of community involvement initiatives. The quarterly Yellow Cab / Taxis Fiesta Cares program provides a combination of monetary donations, volunteer time, event sponsorships and public awareness support to Houston-area charities to raise awareness about their cause and promote fundraising activities.

Yellow Cab Houston and Taxis Fiesta’s vast community involvement ranges from working with local charities and events, including providing donations, volunteer and mentoring for area middle schools such as Fleming Middle School and McReynolds Middle School. In addition, Yellow Cab Houston and Taxis Fiesta have partnered with the Houston Police Foundation, Child Advocates, Inc.; the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s Race for the Cure; the Spaulding Agency for Children; and Houston’s annual Fiestas Patrias parade. The companies have also created programs such as providing annual scholarships, underwriting local youth athletic events and building community awareness campaigns concerning drinking and driving.
