Houston, TX (November 18, 2008) – Representatives from Taxis Fiesta and Yellow Cab joined City Council members and Houston Independent School District leaders at dedication ceremonies for the Fleming  Middle School Fine Arts Academy SPARK Park on November 18, 2008.

“Thank you to Taxis Fiesta and Yellow Cab for the $50,000 contribution to the SPARK Park,” said SPARK Executive Director Kathleen Ownby. “The new track and lighted soccer/football field will benefit not only students and school activities but also the neighborhood.”

"Our company is committed to being actively involved in the communities we serve," said Roman Martinez, president of Taxis Fiesta. "We are excited to see the SPARK Park at Fleming Middle School become a reality."

"SPARK Parks are a great asset to our city. They create a space where communities can get together and children can go to play,” commented Council Member and Mayor Pro-Tem Sue Lovell. “They are one of the best examples of what happens when city government, businesses, and the school district come together.

The Fleming SPARK Park is a cooperative venture of the City of Houston, Fleming parents and students and HISD.
