Pasadena's only high-tech taxi fleet contributes to
technology upgrades at local school
Pasadena, TX (September 10, 2007) As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting education, Taxis Fiesta has donated $5,000 to fund technology upgrades at St. Pius V Catholic School. The Pasadena parochial school, currently celebrating its 60th anniversary, serves more than 260 predominantly Hispanic students in pre-K through 8h grade.
Sister Krysia Pillon, M.C.D.P., principal of the school, said, “This generous donation is a significant contribution to our Home and School Association fund raising effort.” With these funds, the school acquired 30 laptops, which are shared among classrooms, allowing all students access to the interactive multimedia Promethean learning system via the school’s new wireless Internet connectivity.
“Taxis Fiesta is committed to being actively involved in the communities we serve.” said Roman Martinez, president of Taxis Fiesta. “We are proud to support the use of technology to enhance the education of the children at St. Pius V.”
“We’re so excited, it’s like Christmas!” exclaimed Beatrice Perales, school administrative assistant.
